Why QA Belongs at the Start of a Temenos Implementation

Treating quality assurance as the final checkbox is one of the most common — and most expensive — mistakes in a Temenos program.

Quality assurance in core banking is not a stage. It is a discipline embedded throughout the implementation lifecycle, from requirements through hypercare.

Shift-left or pay later

Defects caught during configuration are an order of magnitude cheaper to fix than defects caught in UAT — and two orders of magnitude cheaper than defects caught in production. Embedding QA early means writing test cases as requirements are signed off, not weeks afterwards.

Automate the regression cliff

Every Temenos release, patch and configuration change risks breaking something that already worked. Automated regression suites are the only sustainable way to keep release cycles short without sacrificing safety.

Make sign-off evidence-based

Go-live decisions should be made against documented test evidence, not against the calendar. A clear, traceable QA report gives leadership the confidence to approve — or the data to delay.
